Inclusive education and sexuality in the school: case study

Resumo: Although the sexuality subject has been gradually assimilated in education, manifestations of sexuality continue scaring teachers, specially in relation to children with special educational needs. Based on psychoanalytical referential we consider some reflections on sexuality and inclusive education. We chose the case of an adolescent with Down's syndrome included in a regular classroom to illustrate our comments. We concluded that the sexuality manifestations of an individual with intellectual deficiencies are interpreted as conduct disorder instead of being perceived as curiosity and desire to know. We observed that moral reactions prevail over the debate and the clarification of the subject.

We observed that moral reactions prevail over the debate and the clarification of the subject.Aunque el tema de la sexualidad haya sido asimilado por la educación, manifestaciones de la sexualidad siguen asustando el cuerpo docente, sobretodo cuando se trata de niños con necesidades educacionales especiales. Partiendo de las referencias psicoanalíticas, proponemos algunas reflexiones sobre la sexualidad y la educación inclusiva. Elegimos el caso de una adolescente con Síndrome de Down incluida en una sala de clase regular. Concluimos que las manifestaciones de la sexualidad de la persona con deficiencia son interpretadas como desvío de conducta, y no son percibidas como deseo de saber. Observamos que las reacciones morales predominaron sobre el debate y esclarecimiento acerca del tema.Embora o tema da sexualidade tenha ganhado amplitude na educação, manifestações sexuais continuam assustando os professores, sobretudo quando se trata de crianças com necessidades educacionais especiais. Partindo de referenciais psicanalíticos, propomos algumas reflexões sobre sexualidade e educação inclusiva. Escolhemos o caso de uma adolescente com Síndrome de Down incluída em classe regular para ilustrar nossas observações. Concluímos que as manifestações da sexualidade da pessoa com deficiência intelectual são interpretadas como desvio de conduta, ao invés de serem percebidas como curiosidade e desejo de saber.
