Como metodologia foi utilizada a pesquisaação. As atividades diárias e reflexões foram anotadas em diário de bordo. A pesquisa foi realizada numa turma de 7º ano do Ensino Fundamental de uma cidade do interior de São Paulo, com 32 alunos, e mostrou que temas como análise e interpretação de gráficos e tabelas, frações, porcentagens, transformação de números decimais em frações e porcentagens, operações envolvendo números absolutos e decimais, cálculo do volume e conversão de unidades, média aritmética simples, o plano cartesiano, ângulos, a construção de gráficos manuais e por softwares emergiram naturalmente ao discutir o tema gerador. Além disso, observou-se que, com o uso da matemática e dos conhecimentos adquiridos ao longo do trabalho interdisciplinar, os alunos desenvolveram ações de conscientização em relação à temática saneamento básico em sua cidade e vivenciaram ligações entre as disciplinas curriculares. As inquietações referentes à perspectiva docente em propor um trabalho, sem ao menos saber quais resultados alcançaria, são realmente singulares. As aprendizagens acontecem a todo momento e as reflexões sobre as práticas ocorrem voluntariamente. As aulas interdisciplinares fazem mais sentido para os estudantes, uma vez que a autonomia dentro da sala de aula e a contextualização das situações cabem ao estudante e, enquanto isso acontece, o docente planeja, antecipa as ações e assuntos que podem emergir e realiza o direcionamento dos conteúdos a serem estudados. A pesquisa indicou que, desse modo, há maior interesse discente em pesquisar e estudar, desenvolvendo, assim, conhecimentos novos e aprendendo o significado de cooperação e interação entre os colegas, o professor e a escola.Aiming at knowledge construction, this survey has the objective of investigating mathematical contents which may be used by the transversal theme basic sanitation through interdisciplinarity, which, on this survey, is characterized by the interaction of the subjects, involving the dialogue among teachers, students and the external community. As its methodology, the action-research was used. The daily activities and reflections were written on routine records. The survey was made with a 7th grade elementary school group of a city in the country of São Paulo state, with 32 students, and showed that themes as analysis and comprehension of graphs and tables, fractions, percentages, the change of decimals to fractions and percentages, operations involving absolute numbers and decimals, calculation of volume and conversion of unities, simple arithmetic average, Cartesian plan, angles, the construction of manual graphs and by softwares appear naturally upon discussing the transversal theme. Besides that, it was observed that with the use of mathematics and the knowledge acquired along the interdisciplinary work, the students developed some awareness actions in relation to basic sanitation theme in their cities and experienced connection among the subjects. The concerns related to the teacher’s perspective in proposing some work, not knowing which results would be reached, are really unique. Learning happens all the time and the reflections about the practices occur voluntarily. The interdisciplinary classes make more sense to the students, once the autonomy inside the classroom and the contextualization of the situations are the pupils’ responsibility and, while this happens, the teacher plans, anticipate the actions and subjects that may arise and organizes the directions of the contents that will be studied.
