Resumo: | The focus observation of the discussion that the environmental thematic have received in the media, in the scientific community and also in the teacher everyday life in theclassroom, after approval of the new guidelines and bases law of national education (n. 9394federal law), led this article purpose. based on this law, the brazilian education would be guidedby the national curricular parameters - ncp - which proposes, among its transversal subjects, the"environment" and, in this section, the sustainability as possible way for the confronting ofcurrent environmental debate. the main aim of this paper is to know the ncp and theenvironmental debate arrange in this document. It was found that, if the society in which theschool is inside is known, it can be noted that the school expresses a reflection of the discussionsthat occurred outside, considering the environmental education history from the decade of 1960and integration of this theme at school, in a systematic way, with the ncp. It was used asmethodology the theoretical and bibliographical research and the article was organized in threeparts, which were discussed, respectively: what are ncp; the history of environmental debate fromthe decade of 1960 and the connection between ncp and environmental debate. |

Com esta lei, a educação brasileira passou aser orientada pelos parâmetros curriculares nacionais – pcn – os quais propoem, dentre seustemas tranversais, o “meio ambiente” e, nesta seção, a sustentabilidade como caminho possívelpara o enfrentamento da problemática ambiental atual. O objetivo deste artigo é conhecer os pcne a disposição da problemática ambiental neste documento. Das conclusões, verificou-se que, aose conhecer a sociedade em que a escola está inserida, nota-se que esta expressa um reflexo dasdiscussões que ocorrem fora dela, considerando-se o histórico da educação ambiental a partir dadécada de 1960 e a inserção desta temática na escola, de forma sistemática, com os pcn.
