Resumo: | The article presents the comparative study of a common episode between the romance, To the left of the father, of Raduan Nassar (1975), and the film To the left of the father homonym (2001), of Luiz Fernando Carvalho. The objective is to analyze as literature, using itself its varied rhetorical resources, was transposed for the cinematographic language, through two main isotopias of reading. |

O artigo apresenta o estudo comparativo de um episódio comum entre o romance Lavoura Arcaica, de Raduan Nassar (1975), e o filme homônimo LavourArcaica (2001), de Luiz Fernando Carvalho. O objetivo é analisar como a literatura, valendo-se dos seus variados recursos retóricos, foi transposta para a linguagem cinematográfica, através de duas isotopias de leitura principais.
