Resumo:   This article presents the reflection about research and extension activities from Universidade Federal de Santa Maria, incluing a public school from Rede Municipal de Ensino de Santa Maria/ RS. This research aims to know and reflect about the play activities contributions in pedagogical practice in classroom, giving experiences of the activities. Then, it is done a restoration of play in different situations, perceiving the cultural and historical influences of play activities, toys for children. The research is based in authors as Áries (1986), Priore (1995), Santos (2000), Brougère (2001), Fortuna (2002) e Freitas (2006), aiming a better understanding of play act evolution and its contribution to children development in school.

Neste trabalho, busca-se conhecer e refletir sobre as contribuições das atividades lúdicas na prática pedagógica em sala de aula, oportunizando vivências destas atividades. Assim, realiza-se um resgate do brincar em contextos diferentes, percebendo as influências culturais e históricas que os jogos, brinquedos e brincadeiras infantis possuem. Para tanto, embasa-se em autores como Áries (1986), Priore (1995), Santos (2000), Brougère (2001), Fortuna (2002) e Freitas (2006), buscando uma maior compreensão da evolução do ato de brincar e de como ele vêm contribuindo para o desenvolvimento escolar das crianças.
