Resumo: This paper aims to investigate the roles performed by a professional judge in a Special Criminal Court Hearing in a city of Zona da Mata in Minas Gerais. In this law context, crimes and misdemeanors are tried and charged with sentences under two years. The data show that, besides the roles oriented toward the achievement of institutional goals and tasks which are inherent in this type of event discourse, other roles are highlighted, which are oriented toward controlling the interaction in this institutional setting. The results of the analysis allow us to conclude that the hybridity in roles performed in the Preliminary Criminal Hearings professional context in Brazil, besides being predominantly oriented towards the parties, the victim and the defendant, is interwoven with the creativity required for the implementation of the institutional mandate of this type of speech activity.Key words: role, role hybridity, institutional interaction, criminal hearing.

Unisinos2013-08-30info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://revistas.unisinos.br/index.php/calidoscopio/article/view/cld.2013.112.08Calidoscópio; Vol. 11 No. 2 (2013): May/August; 192-203Calidoscópio; v. 11 n. 2 (2013): Maio/Agosto; 192-2032177-6202reponame:Calidoscópio (Online)instname:Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos (UNISINOS)instacron:Unisinosporhttps://revistas.unisinos.br/index.php/calidoscopio/article/view/cld.2013.112.08/2022Vieira, Amitza TorresMarques, Déborainfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2013-08-30T23:14:36Zoai:ojs2.revistas.unisinos.br:article/4742Revistahttps://revistas.unisinos.br/index.php/calidoscopioPUBhttps://revistas.unisinos.br/index.php/calidoscopio/oaicmira@unisinos.br || cmira@unisinos.br2177-62022177-6202opendoar:2013-08-30T23:14:36Calidoscópio (Online) - Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos (UNISINOS)false
