This article aims to present the importance of the play as a strong ally in the learning process, taking into account that the games and activities are as scholars, effective activities in the construction of children's knowledge through necessary stimulations in production their learning to help grow safe and practice their physical capacity. Thus the playful addition to providing the construction of knowledge, promotes interaction between partners, making meaningful learning you as the child invents, reinvents and advances in the cognitive, affective and social development. Given the importance of play for children's development, as has the quality of play can foster development as a human being, in building your character, moral and social education and contribution to the development in teaching and learning. Thus the professor of early childhood education has a very important role because it is someone able to foster the relationship between the child and the object of learning, creating opportunities and methods to make learning happen. So to make this work, a literature search was used, based on reading reflection of texts, books, and research authors regarding this theme. Anyway this work show that imagination, creativity, motor development among others, are some of the possibilities that the play offers, proving the real importance of this practice in the perspective that everyone has the right to learn, play and have fun.
