Although the issue of the effects of ionizing radiations on airline crew members is a matter of wide knowledge in airlines in Europe and Asia, the approach of this topic in Brazil is still timid and the subject is still little discussed. Thus, the objective of this research is to bring light on the subject by bringing references of vast literature abroad to the Brazilian aviation environment in order to disseminate knowledge to the crew of the crew in Brazil as well as to the academic community about the risks of exposure to this type of radiation. The methodology used was based on a wide and deep research through documents issued by recognized and recognized organizations such as ICRP, WHO, ICAO, IATA, IFALPA, UNSCEAR, FAA, NASA, ANAC, CNEN, which provided scientific background for the preparation of this work. The relationship between ionizing radiation and human health was analyzed in several epidemiological surveys and meta-analyzes. The result of this paper is a number of recommendations based on documents from regulatory agencies as well as from international organizations on how crew members and airlines should be aware of and inform their crew members of all the risks associated with exposure to ionizing radiations
