Resumo: This research has as general objective to analyze the influence of the single-pilot operation in the flight safety, in the scope of the regular passenger transport, in Brazil. It is characterized as a descriptive research with a bibliographic, documentary and case study procedure, through books, specialized sites, regulations and reports. The approach used was qualitative and quantitative. The analysis of the data was done through summaries, graphs and tables, analyzed according to the theoretical basis. At the end of the research, it was concluded that single-pilot operation would not be as safe as dual-pilot operation in regular passenger transport, even in the face of the high automation systems available on aircraft. Pilot judgment is the most presente contributory factor in accidents and, on the other hand, the practice of CRM, in a dual-pilot operation, increases the level of flight safety related to human factors.

Caracteriza-se como uma pesquisa descritiva com procedimento bibliográfico, documental e de estudo de caso, por meio de livros, sites especializados, regulamentos e relatórios. A abordagem utilizada foi qualitativa e quantitativa. A análise dos dados foi feita por meio de resumos, gráficos e tabelas, analisados de acordo com a fundamentação teórica. Ao finalizar a pesquisa, conclui-se que a operação single-pilot não seria tão segura quanto a operação dual-pilot no transporte regular de passageiros, mesmo diante dos sistemas de automação disponíveis nas aeronaves.
