Resumo: The present work is the result of a internship research carried out from August 2017 to November 2018, held for the Serviço Nacional de Aprendizagem Comercial – SENAC/SC, an institution founded in 1947 in the state of Santa Catarina. This company is known for offering professional and technological education services. It is understood that changes in employment relationships have required companies to take a new perspective on professional performance with significant implications regarding especially the recruitment and selection of candidates for vacancies offered. With this in mind, this work has as general objective, to carry out a study aiming to propose improvements in the processes of recruitment and selection of the company. As specific objectives: a) to show what types of recruitment are used by the company; b) to present how the stages of the selection process work and c) to point out the positive and negative aspects of the recruitment and selection processes, aiming at proposing improvements based on the identified negative points. To support the understanding of the topic, bibliographical references were used by renowned authors in the study areas, such as Chiavenato, Gil, Marras, Dessler, Lotz and others. As a theoretical basis, several concepts related to the main theme of the work were used, among them, HR Management and Recruitment and Selection. The methodological procedures used were: exploratory research, descriptive research, bibliographic research, case or monographic study and qualitative approach. A conclusion was reached during the studies carried out, where possible solutions were identified for improvements in the stages of the recruitment and selection process. These suggestions will help select candidates more suitable for the vacancies offered by the organization.

A empresa destaca-se por ofertar serviços de Educação Profissional e Tecnológica. Compreende-se que as mudanças nas relações de trabalho têm exigido das empresas novos olhares a respeito da atuação profissional com implicações significativas no que se refere aos processos de contratação e seleção de candidatos às vagas ofertadas. Tendo isso presente, destaca-se como objetivo geral, realizar um estudo visando propor melhorias nos processos de recrutamento e seleção da empresa. Como objetivos específicos: a) mostrar quais são os tipos de recrutamento que a empresa utiliza; b) apresentar como funcionam as etapas do processo de seleção e, c) apontar quais são os pontos positivos e negativos dos processos de recrutamento e seleção, visando propor melhorias a partir dos pontos negativos identificados. Para embasamento na compreensão da temática, utilizaram-se referências bibliografias de autores renomados nas áreas de estudo, a exemplo de Chiavenato, Gil, Marras, Dessler, Lotz entre outros. Como base teórica, foram utilizados diversos conceitos relacionados à temática principal do trabalho, dentre estes, a Gestão de Pessoas e o Recrutamento e Seleção. Os procedimentos metodológicos utilizados foram: pesquisa exploratória, pesquisa descritiva, pesquisa bibliográfica, estudo de caso ou monográfica e abordagem qualitativa. Como conclusão obtida durante os estudos realizados, observou-se possíveis soluções de melhorias nas etapas do processo de recrutamento e seleção.
