Resumo: | The manufacturing industries are always searching for new ways to stay competitive and meet the expectations of their customers. One of these ways is by offering services related to their products. This tendency is known as servitization. The TraPSS methodology aims to support the decision making process of a company that wants to raise the level of servitization over the PSS (Product Service System) continuum. The purpose of this article is the application of this methodology and its assessment. A case study was made from data obtained in the literature from two companies: one in the telecommunications sector and another in the automotive field. These companies have already been objects of study about servitization in another context. It was found that this method is fully applicable to the purpose, provided that it is used in a prescriptive way from a pre-set sequence of logical steps. It was also concluded that the methodology is neither simple, nor comprehensive and cannot be generalized, and its application is suitable for companies that have mature management model and employees with a high level of technical and administrative competence |
