Resumo: ADHD is a common disorder that occurs in childhood and persists into adolescence and into adulthood in most cases. Some current research already shows that children and adolescents with ADHD have low self-esteem. In a comparison of self-concept of Brazilian children with ADHD and of children without learning or attention difficulties, the results showed more feelings of guilt, of believing they were doing things wrong and worse social self-concept in children with ADHD compared to children without learning or  attention difficulties. Children with ADHD often have low self-esteem and difficulties with relationships with friends. Therefore, it is important to have means of evaluation that can detect how these characteristics can make academic and social life difficult, so that it is possible to improve their quality of life.
