Interactive resources in digital literature for children: an analysis of the Mobeybou in India app

Resumo: In this paper, we conduct a study on formats, functions and effects of interactivity in the context of digital literature for children. The goal is to understand how interactivity can provide a meaningful literary experience to the reader from the analysis of Mobeybou in India, a literary app. This study is based on authors from areas such as Human-Computer Interaction (DOURISH, 2004), Electronic Literature (AARSETH, 1997; MILLER, 2004), Multimodality Studies (KALANTZIS; COPE; CHAN; DALLEY-TRIM, 2016; KRESS, 2006) and Children’s Digital Literature (KUCIRKOVA, 2017; RAMADA-PRIETO, 2017; MENEGAZZI, 2020; ZHAO; UNSWORTH, 2016). As results, we highlight that the interactivity in children’s digital literature is not only a technological expression, but it is also a range of semiotic resources capable to produce different meanings.

El objetivo es comprender cómo los recursos interactivos pueden proporcionar una experiencia literaria significativa al lector, a partir del análisis de la aplicación literaria Mobeybou en India. El estudio se basa en las aportaciones de autores de diferentes areas como Human- Computer Interaction (DOURISH, 2004), Electronic Literature (AARSETH, 1997; MILLER, 2004), Multimodality Studies (KALANTZIS; COPE; CHAN; DALLEY-TRIM, 2016; KRESS, 2006) y Literatura Infantil Digital (KUCIRKOVA, 2017; RAMADA-PRIETO, 2017; MENEGAZZI, 2020; ZHAO; UNSWORTH, 2016). Entre los resultados, destacamos que la interactividad en la literatura digital infantil no es solo una expresión tecnológica, sino que ofrece un conjunto de recursos semióticos capaces de producir significados.Neste artigo, realizamos um estudo sobre formatos, funções e efeitos da interatividade no contexto da literatura infantil digital. O objetivo é compreender de que forma recursos interativos podem proporcionar uma experiência literária significativa ao leitor, a partir da análise do app literário Mobeybou na Índia. O estudo está fundamentado em autores de áreas como a Interação Humano-Computador (DOURISH, 2004), a Literatura Eletrônica (AARSETH, 1997; MILLER, 2004), os Estudos de Multimodalidade (KALANTZIS; COPE; CHAN; DALLEY-TRIM, 2016; KRESS, 2006) e de Literatura Infantil Digital (KUCIRKOVA, 2017; RAMADA-PRIETO, 2017; MENEGAZZI, 2020; ZHAO; UNSWORTH, 2016).
