Training Historians in the Middle of the Pandemic Crisis

Resumo: Having joined remote learning to continue classes in undergraduate History courses during the Covid-19 pandemic, in this article we report our first experiences with this format, putting into execution a course plan that proposed to create learning situations focused on the students and on the exercise of the historical method, considering the different spaces of activity of the professional of History. The challenge was to emphasize the practical dimension of the methodology of History and to establish, in the virtual space, a teaching environment that would be stimulating and provocative for students facing the health crisis and its economic and social repercussions. Confronting the proposed objectives and the results achieved, favoring the students’ perspective, we conclude with some proposals on what to teach and how to teach History in initial training courses.
