"Open the Camera, Please": Remote Classes in Higher Education, a Phenomenological Approach

Resumo: One of the characteristics of the spirit of the era that we are living in 2020 is the immediate need to adapt to the technological resources available for Distance Learning (Distance Learning), transposing it, to some extent, to remote teaching. The objective of this research is to investigate the adaptation process of higher education teachers from face-to-face classes to remote classes during the first semester of 2020. The research question that guided us is: how did teachers adapt to remote classes? The research method is phenomenological approach. To get this answer we interviewed 5 teachers of higher education. The material was transcribed and analyzed, emerging three categories from the statements, which were confronted in the light of the literature. As a conclusion we point out the advances that this disruptive moment has brought to teaching, as well as the need for institutional support to teachers.   Keywords: COVID-19. Remote teaching. Professors.Uma das características do espírito do tempo que estamos vivendo, desde que o isolamento social foi utilizado para conter o avanço do COVID-19,é a necessidade imediata de adaptação dos docentes e discentes aos recursos disponíveis para a educação, tais como computadores e redes de internet, por exemplo, transpondo-os de imediato para o ensino remoto. O objetivo dessa pesquisa é investigar o processo de adaptação dos docentes de ensino superior das aulas presenciais para aulas remotas durante o primeiro semestre letivo de 2020. A pergunta de pesquisa que nos orientou é: como os docentes se adaptaram às aulas remotas? O método de pesquisa é de abordagem fenomenológica. Para conseguir essa resposta entrevistamos 5 docentes do ensino superior. O material foi transcrito e analisado, emergindo três categorias a partir das falas, que foram confrontadas à luz da literatura. Essas categorias foram nomeadas de: a) “abre a câmera, por favor”; b) conforto dentro de casa?” e c) autossuperação. Como conclusão apontamos os avanços que esse momento disruptivo trouxe ao ensino, bem como a necessidade de apoio institucional aos docentes.       Palavras-chave: Covid-19. Ensino remoto.
