Resumo: The objective of this study was to investigate a math analysis course for teaching licensure offered at a distance. The attempt is to understand how the course Introduction to Analysis in a teaching licensure distance program offered by a federal university, in Ceará state, is proposed by the institution, taught by the instructor, and experienced by the students. This study used qualitative research methods to analyze data from official university documents, interviews with the teacher responsible for the discipline, and from the virtual and face-to-face activities carried out by students in the course. The findings showed that although teaching and learning mathematics at a distance can be more challenging than face-to-face instruction, the effective participation in classes taught through web conferencing can make a difference in student achievement in addition to discussion forums interaction and submission of assignments on time. In times of financial crisis, where face-to-face meetings are increasingly scarce, the use of web conferencing has proven to be an effective strategy in teaching and learning math analysis courses. Web conferencing.Este trabalho teve por objetivo investigar o que acontece em uma disciplina de Análise Matemática num curso de licenciatura ofertada a distância. Para isso, buscamos compreender como a disciplina Introdução à Análise do curso de licenciatura em Matemática a distância de uma universidade federal cearense tem sido proposta pela instituição, como ela é ministrada pelo professor responsável e como ela é vivenciada pelos alunos. Essa pesquisa é de cunho qualitativo e se constituiu na análise de dados de documentos oficiais da universidade, de entrevistas com o professor responsável pela disciplina e das atividades virtuais e presenciais realizadas por alunos do curso. Concluímos que, embora ensinar e aprender Análise Matemática a distância seja algo muito mais desafiador do que na modalidade presencial, o que pode fazer a diferença no rendimento dos estudantes, além de interagir nos fóruns e entregar os portfólios dentro do prazo, é a participação efetiva nas aulas ministradas por meio de webconferência. Em tempos de crise financeira, em que os encontros presenciais estão cada vez mais escassos, a utilização de webconferências tem se mostrado uma estratégia eficaz no ensino e aprendizagem de Análise Matemática.
