Humanization in health graduation courses: challenges for implementing national guidelines

Resumo: | The National Humanization Policy (PNH) brought up the need to insert humanization in the training of health professionals. Humanization in health seeks to promote the encounter of individuals and their subjectivities, based on caring and providing assistance for others. This study aims to investigate the Political-Pedagogical Projects (PPP) of undergraduate health-related courses and present a survey about the discussion of Humanization in those programs at the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB). The following documents were consulted through the Integrated System for the Management of Academic Activities: PPP, updated curriculum and syllabus of the Health Sciences Center and the Medical Sciences Center courses. Readings were made in search of the term humanization. In conclusion, there is minimum discussion about humanization in the PPP of healthcare courses at UFPB. Despite being a Unified Health System’s policy that regulates the teaching on humanization for over ten years, UFPB health-related programs have not yet been fully adapted to the purpose of this policy. |

La humanización en salud busca promover el encuentro de los individuos y sus subjetividades, a partir del acto de cuidar y brindar la asistencia necesaria al sujeto. Este trabajo tiene como objetivo investigar los Proyectos Político-Pedagógicos (PPP) de los cursos de graduación en salud y presentar un levantamiento sobre la presencia del tema humanización en los planes de estudio del área de la salud de la Universidade Federal da Paraíba (UFPB). A través del Sistema Integrado de Gestión de Actividades Académicas se consultaron documentos: PPP, menús y matrices curriculares actualizadas de las carreras pertenecientes al Centro de Ciencias de la Salud y al Centro de Ciencias Médicas. Se realizaron lecturas en busca del término humanización. Se concluye que la frecuencia del tema se reduce en la PPP de los cursos del área de salud de la UFPB. Aunque la HPN sea catalogada como política del Sistema Único de Salud y regule la enseñanza de la humanización en salud desde hace más de diez años, los cursos de salud de la UFPB aún no se han adaptado plenamente a la propuesta de esta política.A Política Nacional de Humanização (PNH) trouxe à tona a necessidade de inserir a humanização na formação dos profissionais da saúde. A humanização em saúde busca promover o encontro dos indivíduos e de suas subjetividades, baseado no ato de cuidar e de proporcionar a assistência necessária ao sujeito. Este trabalho tem como objetivo investigar os Projetos Político-Pedagógico (PPP) dos cursos de graduação da saúde e apresentar um levantamento acerca da presença do tema humanização nos currículos da área de saúde da Universidade Federal da Paraíba (UFPB). Através do Sistema Integrado de Gestão de Atividades Acadêmicas foram consultados os documentos: PPP, ementas e matrizes curriculares atualizadas dos cursos pertencentes ao Centro de Ciências da Saúde e ao Centro de Ciências Médicas. Foram feitas as leituras em busca do termo humanização. Conclui-se que é reduzida a frequência do tema nos PPP dos cursos da área da saúde da UFPB.
