Resumo: The objective of this article is to identify the factors that led the students to evade the Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration of the Open University of Brazil / UNEMAT. The dismissal of the student from the course was considered as an evasion by official means such as lock-out or abandonment. The methodology used in this work was a quantitative research, using the survey technique, together with the evaded students, from the application of a questionnaire with closed and open questions. Among the factors with the greatest impact on students' avoidance are questions related to the location between residence and polo presence; The time allocated to the activities of the course, the questions related to the student's work and the financial issues to carry out the course; While those with less impact are questions related to the student's preparation in primary and secondary education and their performance and interest in the subjects and activities of the course. Public administration.O objetivo deste artigo é identificar os fatores que levaram os alunos à evasão do Curso de Bacharelado em Administração Pública da Universidade Aberta do Brasil/UNEMAT. Considerou-se como evasão a saída do aluno do curso por vias oficiais como trancamento ou pelo abandono. A metodologia utilizada neste trabalho foi pesquisa quantitativa, utilizando a técnica de levantamento (survey), junto aos alunos evadidos, a partir da aplicação de um questionário com questões fechadas e abertas. Dentre os fatores com maior impacto na evasão dos alunos estão as questões relacionadas à localização entre residência e polo presencial; ao tempo destinado à realização das atividades do curso, as questões relacionados ao trabalho do aluno e as questões financeiras para realizar o curso; enquanto que as de menor impacto são questões relacionadas ao preparo do aluno no ensino fundamental e médio e o seu desempenho e interesse nas disciplinas e atividades do curso.
