Teacher training and educational policy in higher education institutions in rio de janeiro

Resumo: Teaching Educational Policy to future educators is a challenge, as teaching practices, whilst directly influenced by educational policies, are not always perceived as directed by them. The inclusion of this subject in initial teacher training, in addition to engaging trainee teachers as executors, encourages their involvement as active citizens in policy design and control. An analysis of relevant syllabi reveals how the dual role required of teachers is constructed. This paper is introduced with a brief discussion of the constitution of the field of Educational, based on the works of some authors who seek to define the field and its objects Subsequently, a content analysis of selected syllabi and associated bibliographies is presented. Findings indicate that the role of discipline is more informative than formative.

Findings indicate that the role of discipline is more informative than formative.La enseñanza de la “politica educativa” a futuros educadores es un reto exigente, mientras que las practicas de enseñanza, aunque directamente influenciadas por las politicas de educacion, no siempre son señaladas como dirigidas por ellas. La inclusion de esta materia en la formacion inicial del profesorado, ademas de su participacion como ejecutores, permitiria su compromiso como ciudadanos activos en su formulacion y control. El analisis de los programas de esta materia nos permite observar como se propone la doble funcion necesaria de los profesores. Inicialmente, se presenta una breve discusion de la constitucion del campo de la politica educativa, con base en los trabajos de algunos autores que se han ocupado de definir el campo y sus objetos.. A continuacion, se procede al analisis del contenido de los programas y de la bibliografia. Los resultados indican que el papel de la materia es mas informativo que formativo.O ensino de politica educacional a futuros educadores e um desafio exigente, conquanto as práticas docentes, embora influenciadas diretamente pelas politicas educativas, nem sempre sao percebidas como orientadas pelas mesmas. A inclusao dessa disciplina na formação inicial de professores, para alem de sua participação como executores permitiria seu envolvimento como cidadãos ativos em sua formulação e controle. A analise de ementas dessa disciplina permite observar como o duplo papel que se exige dos docentes e construido. O trabalho inicia-se com uma breve discussao sobre a constituicao do campo da politica educacional, com base no trabalho de alguns autores que tem se ocupado de definir o campo e seus objetos. Em seguida, procede-se à analise do conteúdo das ementas, bem como da bibliografia.
