Organizational culture in educational context: returning to the school as a challenge in the reconstruction of a theorical model

Resumo: From a sociological and organizational view we discuss the heuristical potencialities of the issue of organizational culture to understand the daily functioning of the school organizations, namely from the analysis of three analytic dimensions: the relationship between the "structure" (formal) and the "action" (informal) and between the "external" (outside) and the "internal"(inside) the school; the multiform nature and the intrinsical dynamic to the processes of construction and reconstruction of culture; the theorical and conceptual differentiation between "school culture" and "school organizational culture", as long as sociological realities of distinct nature. In general lines, we adopt the theorical model that we construct in our PhD thesis (TORRES, 2004) about the theme of organizational culture in the public school context.

In general lines, we adopt the theorical model that we construct in our PhD thesis (TORRES, 2004) about the theme of organizational culture in the public school context.A partir de una vision sociologica y de organizacion se pretende discutir las potencialidades heuristicas de la problematica de la cultura de la organizacion para la comprension del funcionamiento cotidiano de las organizaciones escolares, principalmente alrededor de tres premisas analiticas: la relacion entre la "estructura" (formal) y la "accion" (informal) y entre el "exterior" (fuera) y el "interior" (dentro) de la escuela; la naturaleza multiform y dinamica inherente a los procesos de construcción y reconstrucción de la cultura; la diferenciacion teorica y conceptual entre la "cultura escolar" y la "cultura de la organizacion escolar", como realidades sociologicas de alcance y naturaleza distintas. En lineas generales, se utiliza el modelo teorico construido en el ambito de mi tesis doctoral (TORRES, 2004) sobre la problematica de la cultura de la organizacion en el contexto de la escuela pública.A partir de um registo sociologico e organizacional, procura-se debater as potencialidades heuristicas da problematica da cultura organizacional para a compreensao do funcionamento quotidiano das organizacoes escolares, designadamente a partir da reflexão em torno de tres dimensoes analiticas: as relacoes entre a "estrutura" (formal) e "accao" (informal) e entre o "exterior" (fora) e o "interior" (dentro) da escola; a natureza multiforme e dinâmica inerente aos processos de construção e reconstrução da cultura; a diferenciação teorica e conceptual entre "cultura escolar" e a "cultura organizacional escolar", enquanto realidades sociologicas de alcance e natureza distintas.
