Resumo: | The purpose of this work is to present and problematize culture as a central element in communication studies. Therefore, notes on the themes of the authors will be discussed: Stuart Hall, Raymond Williams and Jesús Martín-Barbero. The objective is to highlight the intrinsic relationship, as I intend to demonstrate, between communication and culture in contemporary society. The article begins with a brief history of English cultural studies and focuses on a theoretical review of the topic of culture – reviewing the thinking of several authors – who establish a more contemporary analysis of the topic, such as Henry Jenkins, Douglas Kellner and Lúcia Santaella. Then, the text highlights the importance of the discussion about language in the formation of cultural practices and representations. Finally, a debate on the consumption of communication and cultural productions is presented, taking the discussions presented as a reference. |

Por ello, se comentarán notas sobre los temas de los autores: Stuart Hall, Raymond Williams y Jesús Martín-Barbero. El objetivo es resaltar la relación intrínseca, como pretendo demostrar, entre comunicación y cultura en la sociedad contemporánea. El artículo comienza con una breve historia de los estudios culturales ingleses y se enfoca en una revisión teórica del tema de la cultura – revisando el pensamiento de varios autores – que establecen un análisis más contemporáneo del tema, como Henry Jenkins, Douglas Kellner y Lúcia Santaella. Luego, el texto destaca la importancia de la discusión sobre el lenguaje en la formación de prácticas y representaciones culturales. Finalmente, se presenta un debate sobre el consumo de las producciones comunicativas y culturales, tomando como referencia las discusiones presentadas.L'objectif de ce travail est de présenter et de problématiser la culture comme élément central des études en communication. Par conséquent, des notes sur les thèmes des auteurs seront discutées : Stuart Hall, Raymond Williams et Jesús Martín-Barbero. L'objectif est de mettre en évidence la relation intrinsèque, comme j'entends le démontrer, entre communication et culture dans la société contemporaine. L'article commence par une brève histoire des études culturelles anglaises et se concentre sur une revue théorique du thème de la culture - passant en revue la pensée de plusieurs auteurs - qui établissent une analyse plus contemporaine du sujet, comme Henry Jenkins, Douglas Kellner et Lúcia Santaella . Ensuite, le texte met en évidence l'importance de la discussion sur la langue dans la formation des pratiques et des représentations culturelles. Enfin, un débat sur la consommation de la communication et des productions culturelles est présenté, en prenant les discussions présentées comme référence.A proposta deste trabalho é apresentar e problematizar a cultura como elemento central nos estudos de comunicação. Para tanto, serão discutidos os apontamentos sobre os temas dos autores: Stuart Hall, Raymond Williams e Jesús Martín-Barbero. O objetivo é destacar a relação intrínseca, como pretendo demonstrar, da comunicação e da cultura na sociedade contemporânea. O artigo parte de uma breve história sobre os estudos culturais ingleses e se concentra em uma revisão teórica do tema cultura – revisando o pensamento em diversos autores – que estabelecem uma análise mais contemporânea sobre o tópico, como Henry Jenkins, Douglas Kellner e Lúcia Santaella. Em seguida, o texto destaca a importância da discussão sobre a linguagem na formação das práticas e representações culturais.
