Resumo: This article aims to analyze the debates of the Brazilian Constituent National Assembly of 1987 and 1988 on the presidential veto by constitutional models migrations. The Constitutionalism and the History of Law will help this study to evaluate the Brazilian constitutional experience through discourse analysis of the constituents. Despite knowing the incompleteness of a historical reconstruction of pretension, aims to identify some speeches, with special emphasis on the tension between the foreign experience and local culture in order to achieve a reflection on the veto and the separation of powers, themes it remains still relevant today.
