Resumo: This report of teaching experience aims at presenting and discussing the museum activities which were carried out with the Tijuca II-based students from Colégio Pedro II. Such activities encompassed teaching and research in Basic Education and were part of the Junior Scientific Initiation Programme, entitled “The Scientific Initiation in Human Sciences at the Republic Museum”, under the supervision of the Department of History. Firstly, the authors underline the nature of partnership that was established between Colégio Pedro II and the aforementioned museum. Secondly, they pinpoint how the project was developed and what its impacts were in the course of 2016 based on students’ reports. These reports concern both the various activities put into practice in the museum facilities and the fieldwork notes made by the team on their official mission and technical visits to Portuguese museums in October of that year.

Tais atividades de ensino e pesquisa foram parte do Projeto de Iniciação Científica Júnior, intitulado “Iniciação Científica em Ciências Humanas no Museu da República”, sob a supervisão do Departamento de História. No primeiro momento, os autores mostram a natureza da parceria entre o Museu da República e o Colégio Pedro II.
