Information mediation actions of the state system of public libraries of São Paulo (SISEB): potential scenario for the development of information literacy

Resumo: The article deals with the dialogic relationship between Information Mediation and Information Literacy within the scope of public libraries for the development of community protagonism. It sought to answer how the Information Mediation actions “Reading Wheels, Storytelling and Lectures/Courses/Workshops” carried out by the libraries that are part of the State System of Public Libraries of São Paulo (SisEB) offer conditions for the development of Information Literacy and the protagonism of the subject? In order to fulfill the proposed objective, a qualitative research of a descriptive-exploratory nature was chosen, using the case study supported by bibliographic research and documental research. The universe of analysis permeated 194 libraries from the 3 Administrative Regions of the State of São Paulo with more SisEB libraries: São Paulo, Campinas and São José do Rio Preto, respectively. It was understood that Information Mediation actions, when articulated with knowledge and knowledge resulting from collective experience, develop Information Literacy when they integrate the subject in their relationship with and in the world from the critical, ethical and sensitive use of information for the development of its role.

Buscó responder: ¿cómo las acciones de Mediación de la Información “Ruedas de Lectura, Cuentacuentos y Charlas/Cursos/Talleres” realizadas por las bibliotecas que forman parte del Sistema Estatal de Bibliotecas Públicas de São Paulo (SisEB) ofrecen condiciones para el desarrollo de la Alfabetización Informacional y el protagonismo del sujeto? Para cumplir con el objetivo propuesto se optó por una investigación cualitativa de carácter descriptivo-exploratorio, utilizando el estudio de caso apoyado en la investigación bibliográfica y la investigación documental. El universo de análisis permeó 194 bibliotecas de las 3 Regiones Administrativas del Estado de São Paulo con más bibliotecas del SisEB: São Paulo, Campinas y São José do Rio Preto, respectivamente. Se entendió que las acciones de Mediación de la Información, cuando se articulan con saberes resultantes de la experiencia colectiva, desarrollan la Alfabetización Informacional cuando integran al sujeto en su relación con y en el mundo a partir del uso crítico, ético y sensible de la información para el desarrollo de su rolO artigo trata da relação dialógica entre Mediação da Informação e Competência em Informação no âmbito das bibliotecas públicas para o desenvolvimento do protagonismo das comunidades. Buscou responder de que maneira as ações de Mediação da Informação “Rodas de leituras, Contação de histórias e Palestras/Cursos/Oficinas” realizadas pelas bibliotecas integrantes do Sistema Estadual de Bibliotecas Públicas de São Paulo (SisEB) oferecem condições para o desenvolvimento da Competência em Informação e do protagonismo do sujeito? Para cumprir com o objetivo proposto, optou-se por pesquisa de natureza qualitativa do tipo descritivo-exploratória com uso do estudo de caso apoiado em pesquisa bibliográfica e pesquisa documental. O universo de análise permeou 194 bibliotecas integrantes das 3 Regiões Administrativas do Estado de São Paulo com mais bibliotecas do SisEB: São Paulo, Campinas e São José do Rio Preto, respectivamente.
