Mathematics teaching practice: Building meaning with the help of comic strips

Resumo: | In school practice, the educator signifies and re-signifies his or her knowledge. It is therefore essential to critically analyze the types of knowledge that involve teaching work. In this sense, it was intended to use comic strips as a mediating tool in teacher training in order to develop critical dialogues about mathematics teaching.The aim was to analyze the teachers’ constructions of meaning, besides reflecting on the possible presence of myths in learning, as well as the importance of the word in school practice. Mediation was developed in a focus group comprising teachers from a research group. In turn, the analysis of the dialogues enabled us to apprehend the participants’ constructions of meaning. Finally, the mediation with the strips enabled us to analyze the teacher activity in mathematics teaching, whose types of knowledge are signified and re-signified according to teacher experience, context and needs. Comic Strips.Na práxis escolar, o educador significa e ressignifica os seus conhecimentos. Por isso, torna-se imprescindível uma análise crítica dos saberes que envolvem o trabalho docente. Nesse sentido, tencionou-se utilizar tirinhas como instrumento mediador na formação de professores, a fim de desenvolver diálogos críticos acerca do ensino de matemática. Almejou-se analisar as construções de sentido dos docentes, além de refletir sobre a possível presença de mitos na aprendizagem, bem como a importância da palavra na práxis escolar. A pesquisa, de abordagem qualitativa, foi desenvolvida em um grupo focal formado por professores de um grupo de pesquisa. Por sua vez, a análise dos diálogos possibilitou a apreensão de construções de sentido dos participantes. Por fim, a mediação com as tirinhas possibilitou uma análise da atividade docente no ensino de matemática, cujos saberes são significados e ressignificados de acordo com a experiência, o contexto e as necessidades de ensino.
