Resumo: Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) are diseases transmitted primarily through unprotected sex. They are considered a global public health problem, which has shown great rise in recent years. In addition, college students are particularly likely to develop risky habits regarding sexual practices. The objective of this work is to survey the existing literature on the knowledge about STIs and sexual habits of university students in the health area. This is an integrative literature review, in which the search for titles was carried out in April 2021 in the repositories: Pubmed, Bireme, Lilacs, Scielo and Google Scholar, using the Health Sciences Descriptors: Condoms, Science students Health and Sexually Transmitted Diseases, in English and Portuguese. 53 articles were pre-selected at the end of the search, of which 14 were in accordance with the inclusion criteria and did not present any of the exclusion criteria established for this review, therefore, they were analyzed. There are disagreements in the analyzed literature. The important role of higher education centers in sex education was highlighted, as well as their relationship with unprotected sexual practices. As relationships become more stable, individuals tend to replace condom use with other contraceptive methods, putting STIs on the back burner.

Sustenere Publishing2022-05-18info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://sustenere.inf.br/index.php/sciresalutis/article/view/698510.6008/CBPC2236-9600.2022.002.0020Scire Salutis; Vol. 12 No. 2 (2022): Scire Salutis - Fev, Mar, Abr 2022; 193-200Scire Salutis; Vol. 12 Núm. 2 (2022): Scire Salutis - Fev, Mar, Abr 2022; 193-200Scire Salutis; v. 12 n. 2 (2022): Scire Salutis - Fev, Mar, Abr 2022; 193-2002236-9600reponame:Scire Salutisinstname:Companhia Brasileira de Produção Científica (CBPC)instacron:ESSporenghttps://sustenere.inf.br/index.php/sciresalutis/article/view/6985/3759https://sustenere.inf.br/index.php/sciresalutis/article/view/6985/3758Copyright (c) 2022 Scire Salutishttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessLeão, Marcos Lorran Paranhos Marques, Daniela de Araújo Viana Wanderley, Marcela Silvestre Outtes 2023-08-03T13:33:39Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/6985Revistahttps://sustenere.co/index.php/sciresalutisONGhttps://sustenere.co/index.php/sciresalutis/oai||carlos@arvore.org.br2236-96002236-9600opendoar:2023-08-03T13:33:39Scire Salutis - Companhia Brasileira de Produção Científica (CBPC)false
