Resumo: This pape r defines the cooperative from its social aspect, as well asits economic and business formation from within and without theorganization. lt also presents the planning and respective decisionmaking processes, which are essential for the management of both the horizontal and vertical growth of commercial, productive or service rendering activities. And, finally, it shows the means and forms which are inherent to the cooperative member's participation in the decision-making process and respective control of the actions which determine what, how and when to produce, and where to invest the economic results of such production.
