Resumo: This paper summarizes some of the barriers against valid ethical reasoning: the non-identification of the facts; the emotional bias; the recurrence of deeply rooted convictions; the false assurances; the norms based on other than ethical principies. These difficulties in moral reasoning are multiplied by the profusion of rules and guidelines that burden both the communal and the private world. The paper questions if the current retum of the ethical discussion on philosophical basis wouldn't arise from finding unfeasible any other kind of reasoning.

Essas dificuldades na argumentação sobre a moral são multiplicadas pela abundância de regras e preceitos que pesam não só sobre o mundo comunitário, mas sobre o mundo privado.
