Heutagogy: concepts and Fundamentals in the teaching-learning process

Resumo: Heutagogy is an innovative educational approach that places the learner at the center of the learning process. Its concepts and foundations seek to promote autonomy, self-regulation and individual responsibility in the act of learning. In this context, the objective of this research is to analyze how the implementation of the concepts and foundations of heutagogy influences the development of autonomy and self-oriented learning in contemporary educational environments. To this end, a bibliographic methodology was used to investigate the concepts and foundations of heutagogy. The results indicate that heutagogy, in its essence, recognizes that learning is not an isolated event, but a continuous process that occurs throughout life. Students are encouraged to monitor and control their own learning, reflecting on their progress, adjusting their strategies, and setting their goals. Its concepts and foundations challenge traditional approaches to education, recognizing the importance of adaptation, self-regulation and collaboration in the formation of autonomous and motivated individuals. Ultimately, heutagogy offers a new educational paradigm that empowers students to become independent, adaptable learners in an ever-changing world. Keywords: Learner autonomy. Lifelong learning. Sus conceptos y fundamentos buscan promover la autonomía, la autorregulación y la responsabilidad individual en el acto de aprender. En este contexto, el objetivo de esta investigación es analizar cómo la implementación de los conceptos y fundamentos de la heutagogía influye en el desarrollo de la autonomía y el aprendizaje autoorientado en los entornos educativos contemporáneos. Para ello se utilizó una metodología bibliográfica para investigar los conceptos y fundamentos de la heutagogia. Los resultados indican que la heutagogia, en su esencia, reconoce que el aprendizaje no es un evento aislado, sino un proceso continuo que ocurre a lo largo de la vida. Se anima a los estudiantes a monitorear y controlar su propio aprendizaje, reflexionando sobre su progreso, ajustando sus estrategias y estableciendo sus metas. Sus conceptos y fundamentos desafían los enfoques tradicionales de la educación, reconociendo la importancia de la adaptación, la autorregulación y la colaboración en la formación de individuos autónomos y motivados. En última instancia, la heutagogía ofrece un nuevo paradigma educativo que permite a los estudiantes convertirse en estudiantes independientes y adaptables en un mundo en constante cambio. Para tanto, utilizou-se uma metodologia bibliográfica a fim de investigar os conceitos e fundamentos da heutagogia. Os resultados apontam que a heutagogia, em sua essência, reconhece que o aprendizado não é um evento isolado, mas um processo contínuo que ocorre ao longo da vida. Os alunos são incentivados a monitorar e controlar seu próprio aprendizado, refletindo sobre seu progresso, ajustando suas estratégias e definindo suas metas. Seus conceitos e fundamentos desafiam as abordagens tradicionais da educação, reconhecendo a importância da adaptação, da autorregulação e da colaboração na formação de indivíduos autônomos e motivados. Por fim, a heutagogia oferece um novo paradigma educacional que capacita os alunos a se tornarem aprendizes independentes e adaptáveis em um mundo em constante transformação.
