TRANSFER OF KNOWLEDGE IN PUBLIC HIGHER EDUCATION IN PORTUGAL

Resumo: | This article discusses the transfer of knowledge. It considers knowledge management as a collective and interactive process that comprises several activities. As part of a work on the activities of knowledge management in Portuguese organizations of public higher education, the article briefly characterizes the sector that is the object of study and analyzes the forms of transfer and possible obstacles to the transfer of knowledge in organizations of public higher education in Portugal, more concretely in the organizations of public higher education directed for the formation in the scientific area of management and economy. In the inquiry, work inquiries for the questionnaire were developed (1.010) and structured; later, received and treated 142. The three main results achieved allows us to conclude that in regard to the attitude of the organization towards knowledge management, more concretely the modality of formation understood to be the most attractive for the future of the organization will be, for polytechnic education, the undergraduate courses, and in relation to university education, post-graduate courses without degree and masters` courses. With respect to another objective of the inquiry , which relates to how the organization overcomes the difficulties it faces for the cited transfer, we can conclude that the two sub-systems of higher education refer to the Internet and other technologies as already in use in the organization. We conclude that in relation to the objective that sought to identify what makes transfer of knowledge difficult, we identified the factors are, by order difficulties imposed on the transfer of knowledge, the informal society in the organization, followed by the organization`s communication channels and finally, the organization`s resources. Assume a gestão do conhecimento como um processo colectivo e interactivo que envolve várias actividades. No âmbito duma pesquisa sobre as actividades de gestão do conhecimento no ensino superior em Portugal, o artigo procede ainda a uma breve caracterização do sector objecto de estudo e analisa as formas de transferência e possíveis obstáculos à transferência do conhecimento, no ensino superior público em Portugal, mais concretamente nas organizações do ensino superior público vocacionadas para a formação na área científica de gestão e economia. No trabalho de investigação, foram desenvolvidos inquéritos por questionário (1.010), estruturados, tendo sido recepcionados e tratados 142. Os três principais resultados atingidos permitem concluir que, quanto à atitude da organização sobre a gestão do conhecimento, mais concretamente quanto à modalidade de formação entendida como a mais atractiva para o futuro da organização, será, no que se refere ao ensino politécnico, os cursos de graduação e, em relação ao ensino universitário, serão os cursos de formação pós-graduação sem grau e os cursos de mestrados. No que concerne a um outro objectivo da investigação, que se refere ao como a organização ultrapassa as dificuldades que enfrenta para a citada transferência, podemos concluir que os dois subsistemas de ensino superior referem a internet e outras tecnologias como já em uso na organização. Concluímos que, relativamente ao objectivo que visava identificar o que dificulta a citada transferência, identificámos que os factores são, por ordem de dificuldades impostas à transferência do conhecimento, a sociedade informal na organização, de seguida, os canais de comunicação e, finalmente, os recursos organizacionais.
