Resumo: Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) emerges as a strenuous condition, widely disseminated on a global scale, generating significant impacts on individuals' quality of life and associated public health costs. Considering that the dietary pattern exerts a significant influence on the modulation of the intestinal microbiota, it is possible to infer that dietary intervention emerges as a viable alternative for the treatment of IBS. Therefore, the objective of this study was to evaluate the impact of a low FODMAPS diet in the treatment of IBS. This is an integrative review of the literature to evaluate the effectiveness of adopting a low FODMAPS diet in the treatment of Irritable Bowel Syndrome. The low FODMAPs diet has emerged as a promising approach in the management of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). By restricting intake of certain fermentable carbohydrates, this strategy seeks to alleviate uncomfortable gastrointestinal symptoms associated with IBS, such as abdominal pain, bloating, and bowel irregularities. Although the low FODMAP diet has notable benefits, additional research is needed to fully understand its long-term effects and optimize its guidelines, thus contributing to more effective management of Irritable Bowel Syndrome.

Specialized Dentistry Group2023-12-24info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/113410.36557/2674-8169.2023v5n5p6287-6303Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 5 No. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 6287-6303Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; Vol. 5 Núm. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 6287-6303Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences ; v. 5 n. 5 (2023): BJIHS QUALIS B3; 6287-63032674-8169reponame:Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciencesinstname:Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)instacron:GOEporhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/article/view/1134/1308Copyright (c) 2023 Larissa Silva Gradil Costa, Cosme Michael Santos Farias, Alexandre Magno de Sousa, Vivian Elen da Silva, Yasmin Stefany Silva Bernardo, Fernanda Kelly Dias de Araújo, Bárbara Lettyccya Pereira Chacon de Araújo, Alisson Gomes da Silva Sena, Mateus Chaves Candeia, Vitória Caroline Ramos Fonseca, Rodrigo Daniel Zanonihttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessSilva Gradil Costa, LarissaFarias, Cosme Michael SantosSousa, Alexandre Magno deSilva, Vivian Elen daBernardo, Yasmin Stefany SilvaAraújo, Fernanda Kelly Dias deAraújo, Bárbara Lettyccya Pereira Chacon deSena, Alisson Gomes da SilvaCandeia, Mateus ChavesFonseca, Vitória Caroline RamosZanoni, Rodrigo Daniel2023-12-24T20:59:32Zoai:ojs.bjihs.emnuvens.com.br:article/1134Revistahttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihsONGhttps://bjihs.emnuvens.com.br/bjihs/oaijournal.bjihs@periodicosbrasil.com.br2674-81692674-8169opendoar:2023-12-24T20:59:32Brazilian Journal of Implantology and Health Sciences - Grupo de Odontologia Especializada (GOE)false
