Resumo: | In Mexico, it is observed the environmental rationality in the social actions of ecological peasant’s organizations that aim to practice an alternative way of agriculture. To comprehend the manifestation of this rationality, the case of the Peasant’s School is studied. It was applied one open interview with the main representatives of the five experiences of the Peasant's Schools Network in Chiapas and one structured interview with 38 peasants of this Network. An analytical scheme was developed to assist the data analysis from concepts of researchers of the peasantry theory, the environmental theory, and the managing critical theory, as well from the field experience. The schools can be characterized as substantives organizations where the environmental rationality takes place, by the scientific and traditional knowledge dialogue and the submission of the economics’ motivations to the socioenvironmental imperatives, such as agroecology, social justice, and popular education. |
