Analyzing the controversies about Samarco's socio-environmental disaster in a pedagogical workshop with printed newspapers

In this work we analyze the controversies raised from the development of an educational product, in this case, a notebook that will allow Basic Education teachers to develop a pedagogical workshop for the production of journalistic texts. In this way, we used the theoretical-analytical precepts of the Actor-Network Theory (ANT) to understand the flows, alliances and movements undertaken, formed from the interactions between the actants, in this case students and the newspapers, during the workshop. From the analysis, we observed that there were many controversies that emerged from the discussions, debates and reflections on the topic addressed. Thus, we emphasize that the adopted reference was relevant to the understanding of this sociomaterial practice. We also highlight the educational product developed, which proved to be an important instrument for basic education teachers to be able to work on the controversies surrounding the disaster.
