Teacher Training and Youth and Adult Education: An analysis of Licentiate Degree courses in Chemistry at federal institutions in Rio de Janeiro

Resumo: When discussing the exercise of teaching in basic education, the arguments linked to the specificities of early childhood education, elementary school and high school are expressive, as well as the language adaptations that must occur at each stage. EJA also requires the same premises of this debate, requiring exclusive training for teachers working in this modality. The main objective of this study is to analyze how the Licentiate Degree courses in Chemistry at the federal institutions IFRJ and UFRJ have prepared graduates to work in EJA. This research, of a qualitative nature, was developed from a bibliographic review and a documental analysis. For this, a theoretical explanation was made regarding the training of teachers for EJA, in addition to dedicating part of the work to specifically address the training of Chemistry teachers. Subsequently, disciplines aimed at education and teaching of Chemistry at the aforementioned institutions were researched and categorized. Then, having as a reference the Pedagogical Projects of the Courses and their curricular matrices, the syllabi of these disciplines were analyzed, seeking to verify how EJA has been contemplated in these degrees. As a result, it was concluded that advances in relation to the inclusion of studies on EJA in undergraduate courses are slow, through the offer of optional subjects for EJA.

EJA también exige las mismas premisas de este debate, exigiendo una formación exclusiva para los docentes que laboran en esta modalidad. El objetivo principal de este estudio es analizar cómo los cursos de Licenciatura en Química de las instituciones federales IFRJ y UFRJ han preparado a los graduados para actuar en la EJA. Esta investigación, de carácter cualitativo, se desarrolló a partir de una revisión bibliográfica y un análisis documental. Para ello se realizó una explicación teórica respecto a la formación de docentes para EJA, además de dedicar parte del trabajo a abordar específicamente la formación de docentes de Química. Posteriormente, se investigaron y categorizaron las disciplinas destinadas a la enseñanza y enseñanza de la Química en las instituciones mencionadas. Luego, teniendo como referencia los Proyectos Pedagógicos de los Cursos y sus matrices curriculares, se analizaron los planes de estudios de estas disciplinas, buscando verificar cómo la EJA ha sido contemplada en estas licenciaturas. Como resultado, se concluyó que los avances en relación a la inclusión de estudios sobre EJA en los cursos de pregrado son lentos, a través de la oferta de materias optativas para EJA.Quando se discute sobre o exercício da docência na educação básica são expressivas as argumentações ligadas às especificidades da educação infantil, do ensino fundamental e do ensino médio, bem como as adaptações de linguagem que devem ocorrer em cada etapa. A EJA também requer as mesmas premissas desse debate, sendo necessária uma formação exclusiva para o professor atuante nessa modalidade. O presente estudo tem como objetivo principal analisar como os cursos de Licenciatura em Química das instituições federais IFRJ e UFRJ têm preparado os licenciandos para atuarem na EJA. Esta pesquisa, de cunho qualitativo, foi desenvolvida a partir de uma revisão bibliográfica e de uma análise documental. Para isso, foi efetuada uma explanação teórica referente à formação de professores para a EJA, além de dedicar uma parte do trabalho para tratar especificamente da formação dos professores de Química. Posteriormente, foram pesquisadas e categorizadas as disciplinas voltadas à educação e ao ensino de Química das instituições citadas.
