PEDAGOGICAL ARTIFACTS FOR TEACHING NATURAL SCIENCES: ANALYSIS AND OPINION OF TEACHERS IN OESTE GAÚCHO

Resumo: Considering the value of Science Teaching for understanding natural phenomena, the nature of science and the application of scientific knowledge in everyday life, the role of pedagogical artifacts as facilitators of teaching and learning processes was investigated. The primary objective of this work was to analyze the contribution of pedagogical artifacts to the teaching of Natural Sciences, from the perspective of a group of Basic Education teachers. An exhibition of 12 pedagogical artifacts was developed: 05 didactic games, 04 case studies and 03 visual models, each one related to an object of knowledge and one of the skills proposed in the curriculum guiding documents, prepared for the Final Years of the Elementary Education, followed by the application of a semi-structured questionnaire with the 08 participating teachers, covering different training profiles, in the municipality of Uruguaiana-RS. The data was subjected to a categorization process using Discursive Textual Analysis (ATD). The results reflect the diversity of views on the use of pedagogical artifacts, with the majority of teachers agreeing with their application during classes. The emerging categories of analysis include: (a) Use of pedagogical artifacts in Science Teaching; (b) Potential of pedagogical artifacts in teaching and learning processes. These evaluations indicate that pedagogical artifacts have significant potential to improve teaching and learning, constituting viable teaching tools for Basic Education.

El objetivo principal de este trabajo fue analizar el aporte de los artefactos pedagógicos a la enseñanza de las Ciencias Naturales, desde la perspectiva de un grupo de docentes de Educación Básica. Se desarrolló una exposición de 12 artefactos pedagógicos: 05 juegos didácticos, 04 estudios de caso y 03 modelos visuales, cada uno relacionado con un objeto de conocimiento y una de las habilidades propuestas en los documentos rectores curriculares, elaborados para los Años Finales de la Educación Primaria. , seguido de la aplicación de un cuestionario semiestructurado con los 08 docentes participantes, abarcando diferentes perfiles de formación, en el municipio de Uruguaiana-RS. Los datos fueron sometidos a un proceso de categorización mediante Análisis Textual Discursivo (ATD). Los resultados reflejan la diversidad de visiones sobre el uso de artefactos pedagógicos, estando la mayoría de los docentes de acuerdo con su aplicación durante las clases. Las categorías de análisis emergentes incluyen: (a) Uso de artefactos pedagógicos en la enseñanza de las ciencias; (b) Potencial de los artefactos pedagógicos en los procesos de enseñanza y aprendizaje. Estas evaluaciones indican que los artefactos pedagógicos tienen un potencial significativo para mejorar la enseñanza y el aprendizaje, constituyendo herramientas didácticas viables para la Educación Básica.Tendo em vista a valia do Ensino de Ciências para a compreensão de fenômenos naturais, da natureza da ciência e da aplicação do conhecimento científico no cotidiano, investigou-se o papel dos artefatos pedagógicos como facilitadores dos processos de ensino e aprendizagem. O objetivo primordial deste trabalho consistiu na análise da contribuição dos artefatos pedagógicos para o ensino de Ciências da Natureza, sob a perspectiva de um grupo de professoras da Educação Básica. Foi desenvolvida uma exposição de 12 artefatos pedagógicos: sendo 05 jogos didáticos, 04 estudos de caso e 03 modelos visuais, cada um deles relacionado a um objeto do conhecimento e a uma das habilidades propostas nos documentos orientadores do currículo, elaborados para os Anos Finais do Ensino Fundamental, seguida da aplicação de um questionário semiestruturado com as 08 professoras participantes, abrangendo diversos perfis formativos, no município de Uruguaiana-RS. Os dados foram submetidos a um processo de categorização utilizando a Análise Textual Discursiva (ATD). Os resultados refletem a diversidade de visões sobre o uso de artefatos pedagógicos, com a maioria dos professores concordando com sua aplicação durante as aulas. As categorias de análise emergentes incluem: (a) Utilização de artefatos pedagógicos no Ensino de Ciências; (b) Potencial dos artefatos pedagógicos nos processos de ensino e aprendizagem.
