The Didactic Research Group on Problem Solving in Science and Mathematics is linked to the Federal University of Roraima, works together with the Professional Masters in Science Education and Academic Masters in Education of the State University of Roraima and with the Doctoral Programme of the Amazonian Network of Education in Science and Mathematics. The aim of the article is to analyse the contributions of the studies and research carried out by the Research Group in the state of Roraima based on the Historical-Cultural Theory of Activity in mathematics education in secondary, pre-university and university education. The research presented and discussed here used preferably qualitative methodological procedures and focused on student learning with respect to the mathematics curricular component. The results obtained in the studies carried out at the undergraduate, master's and doctoral levels point to advances in both theoretical-methodological procedures and student learning.
