Training Workshop on the Pedagogical Approach to Creative Learning: An Experience Report

Abstract: Innovative teaching practices are, usually, created or from older ones. That is the case of the pedagogical approach called creative learning that seeks to expand students' expression and creative thinking with the help of digital information and communication technologies. It is considered important that education professionals incorporate the principles of creative learning into their pedagogical practices. In order to achieve such competency, a workshop was offered to students of a Learning Technology Master’s Course. The workshop was intended to make the participant understand the principles of creative learning. It was organized as a didactic sequence with five activities that completed two hours. Participants answered a self-assessment and activity assessment questionnaire. The main negative point reported by students was the time used in the workshop. Besides that, station rotation needs to be worked more profoundly because it was the hardest part for students. Thus, it became clear that the proposed workshop model needs to be modified in order to be used with teachers that demand that kind of skills. Keywords: Creative Learning. Active methodologies.
