RESUMOEste trabalho busca observar os traços estéticos de curtas-metragens produzidos no Rio Grande do Sul, a partir das suas personagens centrais. Os objetos de análise são os filmes O matador de Bagé e O corpo, produções que permitem também outras leituras advindas de seu contexto e exploradas neste estudo a partir das relações de identidade, unidas ao contexto de gauchidade. As análises são realizadas a partir de aporte bibliográfico e considerando elementos da estética cinematográfica. Ao concluir a investigação observamos que os curtas-metragens cumprem satisfatoriamente as relações dos elementos estéticos e apresentam personagens centrais que fogem dos padrões tradicionalistas, embora sigam apresentando características inerentes a um passado marcado pela violência.ABSTRACTThis paper seeks to observe the aesthetic traits of short movies produced in Rio Grande do Sul, departing from their central characters. The objects of analysis are the films O matador de Bagé and O corpo, productions that also allow other readings coming from its context and explored in this study from the relations of identity, together with the context of gauchidade. The analyzes are carried out from a bibliographical contribution and considering elements of the cinematographic aesthetics. At the conclusion of the investigation, we observe that the short films satisfactorily fulfill the relations of the aesthetic elements and present central characters that deviate from the traditionalist patterns, but continue to present characteristics inherent to a past marked by violence.
