NEW HIGH SCHOOL – SOME REFLECTIONS ON EXPECTATIONS, CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES

Resumo: Brazil has a secondary education with an ambitious goal: as many students as possible must achieve good performance in studies or professional competence, and education must help balance social differences. Knowing this, this article aims to analyze the expectations, challenges and opportunities due to the beginning of the implementation of the New High School (NEM), contextualizing them with the literature review from online publications published between 2017 and 2022. The results indicate that there is great expectation among educational actors (teachers, students, managers, administrators), at the same time that it generates a certain distrust and skepticism with regard to its effectiveness and effectiveness. It is concluded that it is still early to evaluate the effectiveness, challenges to be overcome since the effective start of the implementation, started in February 2022, but old problems are still unanswered, among them social inequalities, teacher training and the way in which the training itineraries are put into effect.

Sabiendo esto, este artículo tiene como objetivo analizar las expectativas, desafíos y oportunidades debido al inicio de la implementación de la Nueva Escuela Secundaria (NEM), contextualizándolos con la revisión de la literatura a partir de publicaciones en línea publicadas entre 2017 y 2022. Los resultados indican que hay es de gran expectativa entre los actores educativos (docentes, estudiantes, directivos, administrativos), al mismo tiempo que genera cierta desconfianza y escepticismo en cuanto a su eficacia y efectividad. Se concluye que aún es temprano para evaluar la efectividad, desafíos por superar desde el inicio efectivo de la implementación, iniciada en febrero de 2022, pero aún quedan sin respuesta viejos problemas, entre ellos las desigualdades sociales, la formación docente y la forma en que se se ponen en marcha itinerarios formativos.O Brasil tem um Ensino Médio com um objetivo ambicioso: o maior número possível de alunos deve alcançar um bom desempenho nos estudos ou a competência profissional e a educação deve ajudar a equilibrar as diferenças sociais. Sabendo disso, este artigo tem como finalidade analisar as expectativas, desafios e oportunidades em função do começo da implementação do Novo Ensino Médio (NEM), contextualizando-os com a revisão de literatura a partir de publicações online publicadas entre 2017 e 2022. Os resultados indicam que há uma grande expectativa entre os atores educacionais (professores, alunos, gestores, administradores), ao mesmo tempo que gera uma certa desconfiança e ceticismo no que diz respeito a sua efetividade e eficácia.
