Resumo: The purpose of this article is to present the importance of Bandes in the sustainable development of Espírito Santo since its creation in 1967, as well as its changes in positioning to meet strategic guidelines of the state government and transitions of the state economy. Analyzing financial statements and management reports, it was shown that the bank changed its position in the credit market recently, moving from microcredit to credit focused on micro, small and medium companies. In addition, the bank expanded its portfolio with investments in FIPs, payment for environmental services, management of development funds, PPPs, among others, consolidating itself as the main agent for promoting the sustainable development of Espírito Santo.

Al analizar las demostraciones financieras y los informes de gestión, se demostró que el banco recientemente cambió su posición en el mercado crediticio, pasando del microcrédito al crédito enfocado a las micro, pequeñas y medianas empresas. Además, el banco amplió su cartera con inversiones en FIPs, pago por servicios ambientales, gestión de fondos de desarrollo, PPPs, entre otros, consolidándose como el principal agente de promoción del desarrollo sostenible de Espírito Santo.O objetivo deste artigo é apresentar a importância do Bandes no desenvolvimento sustentável do Espírito Santo desde sua criação, em 1967, bem como suas mudanças de posicionamento para atender a diretrizes estratégicas do governo estadual e transições da economia capixaba. Analisando demonstrações financeiras e relatórios gerenciais, mostrou-se que o banco mudou seu posicionamento no mercado de crédito recentemente, transitando do microcrédito para crédito focado nas micro, pequenas e médias empresas.
