Performance of the School Psychologist with a group of University Students: a welcoming proposal based on the practice of the Health-Promoting University

Resumo: The objective was to report the main demands of university students regarding the initiation phase of higher education through the welcoming practice based on the prospect of the health promoting university, with a group of university students from a private institution in the interior of the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. This is a qualitative and descriptive experience report research of the interventionist type, to produce reflection on the findings identified regarding the performance of the school/educational psychologist in the health promotion university program. The study will be carried out with university students from a private non-profit Higher Education Institution (HEI) in the Alto Paranaíba region, state of Minas Gerais - Brazil. For data collection, a sequence of actions was performed. Initially, the demand of incoming students was surveyed through the online questionnaire (survey method) and later five thematic group meetings were held, which took place once a week with the purpose of promoting conversation circles based on the psychodramatic game. For data analysis, spreadsheets from the Microsoft Excel for Window program were used without regard to tabulated data extracted from the Google Forms platform, specifically for qualitative analysis, the conversation and speech analysis method was used. It is considered that entering higher education presents itself as a challenge for those who are in the initial phase of the course regarding the academic environment, thus it is evident that the presence of the school psychologist can help the student in this phase of adaptation and interpersonal relationship promoting the exchange of experience and expectations among classmates, thus, being able to contribute to the reduction of dropout rates motivated by the anguish of the beginning of the course and difficulty with the model of relationship teacher - student - academic environment different from what they are used to during primary and secondary education.

Trata-se de uma pesquisa de relato de experiência de natureza qualitativa e descritiva do tipo intervencionista, para produzir à reflexão acerca das averiguações identificadas no tocante a atuação do psicólogo escolar/educacional diante ao programa universidade promotora da saúde. O estudo foi realizado com estudantes universitários de uma Instituição do Ensino Superior (IES), privada sem fins lucrativos da região do Alto Paranaíba, estado de Minas Gerais – Brasil. Para a coleta de dados foi realizado uma sequência de ações. Inicialmente o levantamento da demanda dos alunos ingressantes por intermédio do questionário online (método survey) e posteriormente foram realizados cinco encontros grupais temáticos, aos quais ocorreram uma vez por semana com a finalidade de promover rodas de conversas a partir do jogo psicodramático. Para as análises dos dados foram utilizadas planilhas eletrônicas do programa Microsoft Excel for Windows sem relação aos dados tabulados extraídos da plataforma Google Forms, especificamente para análises qualitativas utilizou do método de análise da conversação e fala. Considera-se que o ingresso no ensino superior, apresenta-se como um desafio para aqueles que estão em fase inicial do curso quanto ao ambiente acadêmico, desse modo evidencia-se que a presença do psicólogo escolar pode auxiliar o alunado nesta fase de adaptação e relacionamento interpessoal promovendo a troca de experiência e expectativas entre os colegas de turma, assim, podendo contribuir para diminuição das taxas de evasão motivadas pela angustia de início de curso e dificuldade com o modelo de relação professor – aluno – ambiente acadêmico diferenciado do acostumado por eles no decorrer do ensino fundamental e médio.INSTITUTO PERSONA DE EDUCAÇÃO SUPERIOR2022-12-30info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionArtigo avaliado pelos Paresapplication/pdfhttps://idonline.emnuvens.com.br/id/article/view/363010.14295/idonline.v16i64.3630ID on line.
