Proverbs as a philosophical definition in popular education: analysis of educational practices in the municipality of Soyo (Zaire province, Angola)

Resumo: This article aims to understand how proverbs can contribute to the context of popular education through the analysis of educational practices in the municipality of Soyo, Zaire Province, Angola. Proverbs represent the highest manifestation of people’s philosophical thought, where speech and/or rhetoric are related to solving simple or complex social problems through intelligence or knowledge. The exploratory research will employ strategies to comprehend how this genre contributes to education and the preservation of collective memory within a community. Expected results include identifying crucial trends and challenges in the Angolan popular education system, particularly in Soyo. Data could inform the reconsideration of popular education policies. Additionally, the study aims to empower youth in educational practice and raise awareness within society about the significance of reevaluating the relationship between proverbs and society. A bibliographic review of the popular education system in Angola (Soyo) contextualizes the research, examining how proverbs have been implemented over time, evolved, and contributed to various educational perspectives. The research is structured around three fundamental axes: an introduction establishing the theoretical foundations, a development section supporting the theoretical framework within the Angolan educational system, and the evolution of proverb philosophy, and the conclusion, which summarize the research journey, considering theoretical and methodological aspects related to the development of proverbs in popular education.

O provérbio é o processo de manifestação mais elevado do pensamento filosófico das pessoas, pelo qual a fala e/ou a retórica estão ligadas ao processo de resolução de problemas sociais simples ou complexos através da inteligência ou conhecimento. Esta pesquisa exploratória tomará como estratégias para compreender de que forma este gênero contribui para a educação e manutenção da memória coletiva de uma dada comunidade. Os resultados esperados deste estudo incluem a identificação de tendências e desafios cruciais no sistema educacional popular angolano, particularmente no município do Soyo. Os dados obtidos poderão contribuir para repensar as políticas da educação popular. Também se espera que a pesquisa contribua para a capacitação de jovens no que se refere à prática educativa e para sensibilizar a sociedade sobre a importância de repensar a relação entre os provérbios e a sociedade. Como base na contextualização da pesquisa, foi realizada uma revisão bibliográfica sobre o sistema educacional popular em Angola (Soyo), visando compreender como os provérbios foram implementados ao longo do tempo, como foram sendo modificados e qual contribuição têm dado nas suas perspectivas educativas diversas.
