Resumo: | This article has as its theme the conceptions and approaches related to the development and learning of the subject based on the socio-historical-cultural and dialectic perspective. Its objective is to demonstrate how the second language learning process based on this conception can take place. The research developed uses the techniques and procedures of bibliographic research with a qualitative approach and is based on the reading of master's dissertation works (1991) and doctoral thesis (1997) by professor Ivone Garcia Barbosa. Following as theoretical basis the authors: Leontiev (1978), Luria (1984), Vygotsky (1988; 2000) and Wallon (1986). The results of the literature review on this topic point to the relevance of language as a mediator in the cognitive development process, indicating that the cultural process facilitates the acquisition of a second language and that the relationship between subject and environment are determinant for the development process of the subject. |

Seu objetivo é demonstrar de que forma o processo de aprendizagem de segunda língua baseado nessa concepção pode se dar. A investigação desenvolvida utiliza as técnicas e procedimentos da pesquisa bibliográfica com abordagem qualitativa e está pautada na leitura dos trabalhos de dissertação de mestrado (1991) e tese de doutorado (1997) da professora Ivone Garcia Barbosa. Seguindo como base teórica os autores: Leontiev (1978), Luria (1984), Vygotsky (1988;2000) e Wallon (1986).
