Resumo: | This paper reports an interview conducted with Professor Zélia Amador de Deus, on March 19th, 2022, who currently coordinates the Advisory Office of Diversity and Inclusion - ADIS, Federal University of Pará (UFPA), and who is also responsible for planning, coordination, definition, implementation and monitoring of affirmative action policies. The debate was addressed around the amendment, in 2022, of Law 12.711/2012, given its importance as a breakthrough by the Brazilian State to alleviate the effects of racism, and the political maneuvers trying to undermine the guarantee of rights already achieved. It also discussed the controversial issue of quota fraud, its impacts and ways to combat it. In the voice of Zélia Amador de Deus, we find the narrative of protagonism within the black movement, in the implementation of affirmative action policies and in favor of the quota system for black men and black women in the public universities of the Brazilian State. |

Se abordó el debate en torno de la modificación, en 2022, de la Ley 12.711/2012, dada su importancia como avance del Estado brasileño para paliar los efectos del racismo y las maniobras políticas que intentan vaciar la garantía de los derechos ya conquistados. También se abordó el controvertido tema del fraude en las cuotas, sus repercusiones y las formas de combatirlo. En la voz de Zélia Amador de Deus, encontramos la narrativa del protagonismo dentro del movimiento negro, en la implementación de políticas de acción afirmativa y a favor del sistema de cuotas para hombres y mujeres negros en las universidades públicas del Estado brasileño.Este trabalho narra a entrevista realizada com a professora Zélia Amador de Deus, em nove de março de 2022, que coordena atualmente a Assessoria de Diversidade e Inclusão – ADIS, Universidade Federal do Pará (UFPA), responsável pelo planejamento, coordenação, definição, implementação e acompanhamento de políticas de ações afirmativas. Abordou-se o debate em torno da alteração, em 2022, da Lei 12.711/2012, dada sua importância como um avanço do Estado brasileiro para minorar os efeitos do racismo, e as manobras políticas tentando esvaziar a garantia de direitos já conquistados. Também se tratou o polêmico tema das fraudes ao sistema de cotas, seus impactos, e as formas de combatê-las.
