The knowledge of pedagogy in telejournalism: Paulo Freire and journalistic practice

In several works, and especially in the book Pedagogy of Autonomy, theeducator Paulo Freire presents knowledge to educational practice. They serve as guidelines and recommendations for professionals in the field. They are: rigor in method, criticism, ethics and aesthetics, critical reflection on practice, apprehension of reality, recognition of being conditioned, knowing how to listen. As a focus, an ethical, dialogic and emancipatory action. In this work, we approach the work of telejournalism professional with these seven knowledge, building a connection that helps us understand how important these Freire’sfr reflections can be for the investigative method of journalism, especially as regards the protagonism of the professional in construction of the reality made by the activity. Let us follow this path to remember the non-negotiable social commitment of the journalism and to strengthen its theory, with a focus on the formation and awareness of the journalist, pedagogical enunciator.
