Resumo: | This article presents a critical analysis of the evolution of words and expressions used in the field of education for children with special needs: disability, special, special educational needs, integration and inclusion. It makes reference both to international organizations and French specificities and, lastly, addresses the ambiguities, contradictions and challenges of inclusive education. Words form things, structure social realities and even create institutions. Therefore, it is essential that educational, as well as health professionals, be attentive to discover in their own practices the obstacles that prevent the participation of all in shared living spaces. |

Hace referencia tanto a las organizaciones internacionales como a las especificidades francesas y, por fin, problematiza las ambigüedades, contradicciones y retos de la educación inclusiva. Las palabras hacen las cosas, estructuran realidades sociales e incluso crean instituciones. Por lo tanto, es indispensable que los profesionales de la Educación, y también los de la Salud, estén atentos para descubrir en sus propias prácticas los obstáculos que todavía subsisten a la participación de todos en los espacios de vida compartidos.O artigo propõe uma análise crítica da evolução das palavras e expressões utilizadas no campo da educação para as crianças com necessidades especiais: deficiência, especial, necessidades educativas especiais, integração, inclusão. Faz referências tanto às organizações internacionais como às especificidades francesas e, por fim, problematiza as ambiguidades, contradições e desafios da educação inclusiva. As palavras fazem as coisas, estruturam realidades sociais e até mesmo criam instituições.
