Resumo: The present work constitutes an analysis of the possibility of VGBL and PGBL being used as inheritance and tax planning tools. In this sense, there is an examination of the legislation that governs both and the jurisprudence that is being created in order to determine whether or not the ITCMD should be applied on the amounts and income accrued by its holder. In addition, it also deals with the need for such values to be included in the probate or not
