Análise do potencial de um site com foco em desenvolvimento da habilidade de produção oral em língua inglesa

Resumo: The oral production ability is the most desired one by the students of my teaching context, however, the curriculum of the State of São Paulo: Languages, Codes and their Technologies - Elementary school - Cycle II and High School, Foreign Language. State Department of Education of the State of São Paulo - SEEESP (2008) does not focus on the development of this skill. The use of websites and ICT may be considered as an alternative to develop this skill. Therefore, this paper aims to analyze a site that aims to develop oral production in English. The theoretical foundations of this research covers the premises of PCN-LE (1998a), PCN (1998b) and criteria to evaluate sites and materials as suggested by Araújo(2009) and by Ramos (2009). The research is characterized as teaching materials evaluation. The results show that, although the site chosen to present itself as different from the traditional teaching of oral production in English, it contains mostly structuralist exercises. This research, therefore, invites reflection on the scarcely free online materials focused on oral production ability, as a way to promote and propose the creation of suitable materials for the current educational context

Secretaria Estadual de Educação do Estado de São Paulo - SEEESP (2008) não foca o desenvolvimento dessa habilidade. O uso de sites e das TIC podem ser um aliado para o desenvolvimento dessa habilidade. Portanto, este trabalho tem como objetivo analisar um site que se propõe a desenvolver a habilidade de produção oral em língua inglesa. O arcabouço teórico desta pesquisa abrange as premissas dos PCN-LE (1998a), PCN (1998b) e critérios para avaliar sites e materiais didáticos como Araújo (2009) e Ramos (2009). A pesquisa caracteriza-se como avaliação de material didático. Os resultados obtidos mostram que apesar do site escolhido apresentar-se como diferencial em relação ao ensino tradicional da habilidade de produção oral em língua inglesa, ele contém em sua maioria, exercícios estruturalistas.
