This paper broaches on the new procedures for the compliance of judicial instruments, instituted by Law no. 11.232/2005, which were added to the Code of Civil Procedure, in Book I – “On the Execution Proceedings”, now being considered as a stage in the process and no longer as an autonomous execution procedure. It discusses the development of the judicial execution instrument, discourses on the modalities of sentence settlement, for the attribution of liquidity to the title, if this is the case, debtor restructuring mechanisms, and other procedural characteristics. It deals with the exceptions to the rule applied to Public Treasury sentence execution cases and in the cases of maintenance. It outlines the omissions in the Law and the manner which the doctrine understands them in order to act according to the purpose of the procedural reform. It concludes discoursing on the need for the norms to be interpreted by the spirit that initially guided the procedural reform, thus avoiding distortions which may, in practice, lead to a regression to the effects brought on by the norm previously in effect
