This bibliographic research on Burnout Syndrome, aims to know the productions made about this subject. Among the works found, appeared as the most relevant researches the FERENHOF & FERENHOF’s (2002), who nvestigated the syndrome on public school teachers in Duque de Caxias, in Rio de Janeiro; CARLOTTO and SILVA’s (2003) who analyzed if the gender differs in levels and in the process of the syndrome, also seeking to identify whether there was an association of burnout dimensions with demographic, labor and behavioral variables; ANGST , DIANA , Amorim , PORT - MARTINS , LARA’s (2010 ) who did research with students who volunteer in a project called Projeto Comunidade Escola, Curitiba, investigating whether the syndrome also had these volunteers. Considering current research and results presented by these authors is necessary to consider that the student works and is as subject to stress as a teacher. It is responsibility of the agencies that take care of education, such as the Department of Education, understand the complexity of teaching so that prevention and treatment are made
